Important Dates:
- August 1st: Online sales start!
- July 27, August 1 and August 2 : 7:00 pm Webinar Trainings
- August 22nd : Show and Sell orders submitted to council via Trails End Website
- September 9th: Show and Sell Delivery, Council Kickoff Party. First day of Take Orders! 5:30 – 7:00 pm (location TBD)
- September 10th: Show and Sell delivery – 9:00 am to Noon (location TBD)
- October 17th: S&S ends, S&S money due to council, Take orders submitted to council via Trails End Web Site
- Nov 1st: Online Sales End
- Nov 2-4th: Take order delivery and pick up
- Nov 16th: Prizes orders submitted to council via Trails End website. Take order money due to council
- Nov 23rd: Campaign Ends
This information is for POMO, MIWOK and YOKAYO DISTRICTS
We have a site for our pick up of the show and sell popcorn and our 2011 KICK OFF PARTY!!!
It will be at: North Bay Construction, 431 Payran Street, Petaluma, CA 94952 (straight towards the back row of warehouses)
It's a very open area with plenty of parking. We will have food, raffle prizes, a quick training session, pick up of your show and sell popcorn and a sales kit bag that will have your TAKE ORDER FORMS in it for your unit. PLEASE email me with about how many from your unit will be there so that we have enough food.
So, even if you don't have any show and sell popcorn to pickup - come by and get your sales kit bag so you can start your TAKE ORDERS on 9/9/11. Here's the schedule for the evening:
5:30 - load up your S&S popcorn order and help others load up their orders, too, please.
6:15 - Dinner - sandwiches, chips, drinks, cookies
6:30 - 15 minute information and Trails End popcorn system training
6:45 - raffle prizes
7:00 - clean up and wrap up
WE NEED HELP ON THURSDAY, 9/8 - as close to 11:00 AM to help sort orders at the North Bay Construction address. If you help, you can pick up your S&S order after we're done and then on Friday you can just enjoy the festivities. We want to be done sorting by 2:00 so if there's anyway you can get there around 11:00 - PLEASE let me know. The truck should be there before 10:00 and be unloaded within 30 minutes.

REMEMBER: A maximum of 10% of your Show and Sell orders can be returned to Council for credit. Only unopened cases will be accepted. The balance of what you have leftover needs to be applied to your take orders, or keep selling it until it’s gone.

Commissions:
- Base commission = 33%
- NOT order prizes + 1% = 34%
- PARTICIPATION BONUS - # of boys per unit determined on 8/1/11 by Council
- 50-74% participation – 1% Bonus
- 75-90% participation – 2% Bonus
- 91-100% participation – 3% Bonus
TOTAL POSSIBLE COMMISSION – 37%
- Must input orders as take order sheets for individual boys
- If unit meets council minimum order of $250 per boy with 100% participation: Council will contribute up to $10 per boy for a VICTORY party for each pack/troop/crew/team/post that meets this goal
- Top Boy Scout seller in council – Ipad with scout apps
- Top Cub Scout seller in council – Ipad with scout apps
- Top Online seller in council – Ipad with scout apps
- Minimum orders of $850 to earn top Online seller prize. Include Military donations

Show and Sell Popcorn Return Policy:
- Only return UP TO 10% of product ordered for a credit to account

Trail’s End Popcorn System:
- Before you start: Contact your district kernel. You need to receive a username and password from the popcorn folks, then…
- Go to: Trails-end.com
- Click on the “leaders” box
- In upper right corner – choose Popcorn System
- The first time you log in, confirm your email address and create your new password. You will be sent an email to confirm.
- Answer the Confirmation Email and you’re on your way!
(If you have trouble getting the confirmation email, check spam filters.)
Online Selling:
Online selling allows Scouts to sell to faraway friends and family.
70% of every purchase goes to the Scout’s unit and council in his name.
Why sell online?
- No deliveries! Trail’s End ships the product
directly to the consumer.
- Drives incremental revenue.
- It’s easy! Scouts create their own accounts on
scouts.trails-end.com.
- All online sales starting Aug. 1 through Nov. 1 count toward Scout Rewards
- Diverse national product line, different from your paper order form.
STEP 1: Go to scouts.trails-end.com to sign in or create an account.
STEP 2: Go to the Send Emails page to send emails to your customers. Don’t forget to follow up!!
STEP 3: Go to Track My Online Sales to see who has made a purchase.
Trails End Site has lots of training videos on it that are very short. Please review those training videos.

Unit Kernels Only: Play around in the Popcorn System and familiarize yourself with it. Put the boys names in the system as soon as possible – under “scouts”. If you still need help, please call your local District Kernel for assistance. DO NOT call the council office with questions about the popcorn sale. They will be accepting money only. We will be having additional training in October with the trails end system.
