Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills - Pomo host

Pomo District hosting Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training

Each adult leader in a troop becomes more competent and confident in working with Scouts when he or she has taken the training BSA develops, and shares with all interested through our totally devoted and capable district volunteers.  Once again, Pomo District is hosting this spring the two in-person BSA courses that a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, or other troop adult leader needs to become that competent and confident Scouter.

Scouts BSA Adult Leader Training – the first part of basic training for Scout troop leaders:  Any adult working with Scouts BSA troops should attend this two-evening training to gain a greater understanding of the Aims and Methods of Scouting, and how they are carried out in the Scout troop program. Learn how you can help your troop deliver the promise of Scouting. This course is offered in conjunction with Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (see website to register for that course as well).

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training (IOLS):   An important and enjoyable part of the basic training for a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster. IOLS covers outdoor skills expected of new Scouts though First Class rank, in skill sessions following the Scout Handbook. Scouters gain confidence in their ability to teach skills to youth through hands-on practical application of skills, proven methods for training Scouts, and sharing experiences grounded in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Click on the links for each course to sign-up.

Remember that every Scout deserves trained leaders!  Thank you for getting trained, and giving your time and talents to the building of our young people through Scouting.
