Recharter Paperwork Due to Service Center

Welcome and thank you for using Internet Rechartering from Boy Scouts of America. Internet Rechartering allows you to renew your unit’s charter online and perform the following actions:

  • Select members from your existing charter roster
  • Add new members,
  • Update member information, and
  • Print a summary of membership and costs associated with the new charter.
  • Pay Council recharter fee

National BSA has announced the following changes in fees

  • $66 per youth in Cubs, Troops, Venturing, Sea Scouts
  • $42 Exploring youth
  • $42 for all adults
  • $75 for each unit a chartered organization charters (Charter Fee)
  • $25 joining fee for NEW program participants in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts

Recharter Dates

  • Oct 1, 2020 - Internet Recharter Online access opens
  • Oct 7, 2020 - Recharter Packets mailed to unit Committee Chair
  • Dec 15, 2020 - Recharter paperwork due to Council
On-line process for 2020
  • An access code must be used by units to log in.
  • You must register as a First Time User on your initial logon to the system for 2020. After initial registration you can enter the system as a Returning User.
  • Stages and steps remain the same as 2019.
  • Youth Protection training taken after March 1, 2019 is required for all adults. You will get an error message if training is not current and will not be allowed to process the charter with those adults. Registered adults will receive notifications that their YPT has expired or is about to expire before charter renewal.
  • Electronic authorization is available for the chartered organization representative (COR) or Executive Officer..
  • Three payment options will be available. See more details below.
    1. Pay Direct to Council (Cash/check option)
    2. Online by credit card (a surcharge will be added)
    3. E-Check
Required Documents to turn in
  1. All pages of the Unit Charter Renewal application package (no draft versions). The Chartered Organization Representative (COR)  or Executive Officer. must sign the form either electronically on line or manually after printing.  This is the only signature required on the application.
  2. BSA Adult Leader or Youth Member applications for anyone listed as “new” on page one of the Charter Renewal Application. Adult applications MUST include the Additional-Disclosures-And-Background-Check-Authorization-CA form and a Youth Protection Training certificate.
  3. The Annual Charter Agreement that is signed by the Institutional Head/Executive Officer.
  4. Completed Journey to Excellence Unit Scorecard.
