Noyo Scout Troop Family Camp (session 2)

Camp Noyo registration filled - sessions July 27-29, July 30-Aug. 1

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many BSA council camps have decided to cancel their 2020 sessions. Contingent on Mendocino County health policies, Redwood Empire Council will hold two Scouts BSA troop camp sessions of 3 days and 2 nights during the fourth week of July.

Noyo Session 1 will run Monday morning July 27 through Wednesday afternoon July 29.  Noyo Session 2 will run Thursday morning July 30 through Saturday afternoon August 1. Troops may arrive as early as 9:00 a.m. on session day 1 and depart on day 3 in time to have dinner en-route or at home.  Total Scouts, Scouters, and troop family campers will be limited to 50 participants per session (4 to 5 troops will be able to sign up per session). Troops must bring at least two adult Scouters, and those Scouters will be allowed to bring family members if interested. Webelos Scouts accompanied by a parent or guardian may attend as part of a sponsoring troop.

In order to meet anticipated county health policies, we are switching (at least for this year) to troop meals in campsites, which each troop planning its own menu and bringing its own food.(there will be no campwide meals).  Without camp food purchase, this drastically reduces the 2020 camp fee to a Family Camp pricing structure, but the camp fees will cover the cost of camp rental, utilities expense, volunteer staff training, and program area expense.

We believe this 2020 camp fee of $60.00 per Scout, and $40.00 per Scouter/non-Scout family member is very affordable, and permits almost every troop to consider this 2020 adjustment to our summer program.  Camp fees will also cover the expense for supplies needed to disinfect and sanitize program areas of camp (such as nature, handicraft, and waterfront).

Details are in the Resources tab of both camp sessions, and links to photos of Camp Noyo as well.  Camp Noyo is a beautiful location on the Noyo River for a small, intimate summer camp staffed by dedicated and trained BSA volunteers. REC-BSA volunteers and staff are pleased to continue the 77 year tradition of Scout camping at Camp Noyo this summer.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED (except staff) DUE TO ANTICIPATED COUNTY HEALTH CAP OF 50 PARTICIPANTS PER SESSION
