REC Centennial Gathering of Eagles & Scouters

Ralph Paulin and Allan Hemphill to receive NOESA at May 18 Gathering of Eagles at PCAM

Our Centennial Year of the Redwood Empire Council continues with a special Gathering of Eagle Scouts and Scouter alumni, set for the evening of Saturday, May 18 at the Pacific Coast Air Museum (near the Charles M. Schulz Airport) in northwest Santa Rosa.

A robust committee of Eagle Scout and Scouter alumni, including Bob Luttrell, Bruce Mayfield, Gary Sugiyama, Rick Marson, Ray Leonard, Craig Gregory, Dan Bobier, Marty Webb, Tim Ryan, Charles Howard-Gibbon, Dave Spangler, Bob Matteucci, and Damon Van Hoesen have planned a very special evening for Eagle Scouts, Scouters, and their guests.

The Gathering will start with a pre-dinner reception starting at 5:00 p.m., giving each attendee the chance to renew friendships with Eagle Scouts and Scout leaders from your youth and in your time as a Scouter. The reception period will also include docent led tours of the museum and their extensive collection of military aircraft, the chance to view an extensive display of Scouting memorabilia showcasing the council's history, a silent auction of Scout collectibles and wine country food and gift offerings, and a nice selection of before-dinner appetizers and beverages.

We'll seat everyone for dinner around 6:30 p.m. and after a traditional opening ceremony and welcome, we'll enjoy a nice buffet dinner with live music from the Eagle Scout led band, Maile Swing.  After dinner, we'll be able to enjoy a program interspersed with fun, inspiration and remembrance-- a program which will also feature remarks from fellow Eagle Scout, Shane Calendine, our BSA Western Region Director.  Ralph Paulin and Allen Hemphill will be recognized as our council's newest recipients of the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award for distinguished career service, community service, and service to Scouting.

The program should conclude by 9:00 p.m.  Each attendee will also receive a special Gathering of Eagles commemorative pocket patch.  The cost for this great evening is only $50.00 per person -- you and a guest can register by clicking on the orange “Register” button above.

Please help us pass the word along on the extended signup to any of your Scouting contacts.  If anyone needs assistance in registering for this event, they may call the friendly staff at the REC-BSA Service Center at (707) 546-8137.

Special Note: As you register for the Gathering of Eagles and Scouters, you'll also have the chance to register for special tours of three of Sonoma County’s’ top destinations, with lunch, being offered earlier in the day, on Saturday, May 18.  There is limited space for each tour, so don't delay in registering!
