Centennial Camporee Oct. 4-6 - Both Disabilities Awareness and Traditional Activities

Our REC-BSA Council Centennial Celebration will continue with a special "all units-all districts" Centennial Camporee, set for Friday-Sunday, October 4-6, 2019 at the Earle Baum Center, on Occidental Road between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa.

The Centennial Camporee will include overnight camping for Scouts BSA troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout ships, along with Saturday afternoon activities for Cub Scout dens as well.  Saturday activities will allow patrols and dens to demonstrate skills and compete for recognition, with many of these activities featuring Special Needs and Disabilities Awareness.

Chair Bruce Mayfield has a large committee, including representatives of our Orca Lodge Order of the Arrow, who will be the youth leading our Saturday activities.  Camping by troops, crews, and ships will be both Friday and Saturday evenings, with the use of "off-the-ground" stoves for patrol cooking.  Each pack will be hosted by a older-youth unit for Saturday dinner.

Check the "Resources Tab" of the Camporee event webpage here for the PDF documents related to this event, including a preview of what the Centennial Camporee will include.

Note that all registration (except Camporee staff) will be done by unit.  Webelos Scouts and adults who are guests of a troop and camping overnight will register with the troop at $18.00 each.  All pack youth and adults attending on Saturday only pay through their pack.

So "Be Prepared" to sign up for your patrol or den participation through your unit leader or unit outings coordinator.
