Every Scout Deserves to Go to Camp!
Our focus has been and will continue to be every Scout (Cub Scout, Webelos, Boy Scout, Venturer) deserve to go to camp. We have partnered with San Francisco Bay Area Council to create the Northern California Coast Camping in an effort to provide great camping experiences for all levels. Through this endeavor we have access to great facilities minutes from our homes. Our council community of individuals, businesses, and friends have raise significant funds to allow financial support to those that need it so Scouts can attend camp. Our National Accredited Twilight Camps in Windsor and Pennegrove have outstanding programs with trained dedicated leadership
It is with regret that we have been unable to run our Boy Scout Resident Camp and Webelos Weekend at Noyo, but we have not given up finding ways that to make these camps happen. Our Fall Shooting Camp Weekend at Royaneh has grown every year with fun and skill building for all age groups. All of these programs operate because we have a small group of dedicated volunteers, but like anything we do we need volunteer to continue to grow these programs.
Thanks again to those that participate in the Council's Auction Gala we have purchased a program trailer to support our camps Scoutcraft and Handicraft programs; this will facilitate our mobile camp and adding to our shooting sports and Kayak trailers. This program trailer will be used to help our camp volunteers safely store and operate the programs items at twilight camps and Noyo. The Kayak trailer with six kayaks is available for rent to support unit’s water programs and camp activities.
Again, our desire is to rebuild our camping program in 2017. If you would like to learn more about any of the Camping opportunities in the Northern California Coast Camping, please join us at the 2018 University of Scouting so we can share the possibilities. Remember, every Scout deserves to go to camp.
All the best in scouting,
Rick Marson, REC Camping & Outdoor Adventure Chair
