BSA Family Camps - including Noyo Family Camp and SFBAC Family Camps

Family Camps are BSA council-run programs designed to include adventures for some or all of your entire family.  These weekends include various activities such as archery, arts and crafts, BB guns, nature programs, swimming, etc.  The various Family Camp weekends hosted by Redwood Empire Council and San Francisco Bay Area Council begin with Memorial Day and conclude on Labor Day weekend..

  • Noyo Family Camp Adventure   (Jul 17-19, 2020)

  • Noyo Family Camp Adventure at Camp Noyo

    Noyo Family Camp Adventure is our annual parent/Scout camping weekend at Camp Noyo (on the Noyo River west of WIllits), open to Scouts accompanied by parent(s) with siblings also welcomed.  Scouts must attend with at least one parent (or substitute parent) according to BSA Guide to Safe Scouting.

    Adult volunteers, older Scouts, and Venturers on our Noyo volunteer staff lead you through a variety of activities at Camp Noyo, including swimming and boating, nature, and shooting sports.  Meals are provided starting Friday evening and concluding on Monday morning.  Participants ride the famous California Western Railroad "Skunk" Train to Camp Noyo from Willits and back out.  You may choose from arrival on Friday or Saturday, and depart on Sunday or Monday.

    With Noyo Family Camp Adventure, you sign up with your pack, and your pack registers the entire contingent (whether it be 2 or 20).   ,

    Contact the REC camping committee if you are an older youth or adult who would like to be on volunteer staff for Noyo Family Camp Adventure and/or the Scouts BSA Summer Camp which follows in middle of July.

    Royaneh Family Vacation Camp

    Royaneh Family Vacation Camp is for all BSA family member to enjoy the outdoors, beautiful redwoods, and activities of Camp Royaneh near Cazadero. Special activities will be held to keep your family having lots of fun!

    Our Olympic-size swimming pool provides a great place to lie in the sun or swim on a warm afternoon. Always popular are the archery range, the rifle range and the shotgun range. Camp provides the equipment and instruction. We have bows just right for the small ones! You can ride a horse though the majestic redwoods or just enjoy nature on a hike. The craft area provides an exciting time creating something you can bring home with you. Each weekend the camp director will have a special activity planned which will be posted on the schedule board at camp.

    Wente Scout Reservation Family Vacation Camp

    Wente Family Vacation Camp aoffers numerous fun and exciting activities for people of all ages. Archery and BB gun are great for everybody and the rifle, shotgun, and black powder ranges offer a rousing challenge for older campers.

    Bring your fishing gear - catch a mess of blue gill or large-mouth bass on 80-acre Stamos Lake.  At the waterfront there are plenty of shallow areas for the little ones and areas for the experienced swimmer too. You can also row a boat, paddle a canoe or kayak, or just lean back and enjoy the sun as a stiff breeze pushes you along in a sailboat.

    You can enjoy the miles and miles of Wente trails while riding one of our strings of Western saddle horses. Don’t forget to stop by the craft area where you can make something that will always remind you of the good times you had at Family Vacation Camp.
